after the letdown we suffered from the developers working for the UofC, we took some time to research other available leasing properties in the area. and we decided to check out DelPrado a bit more. we’ve lived in that building in the early 90’s, got many pints of Ben & Jerrys from the corner mini-grocery store, and were excited to hear this gem of a buildin was going through a major re-development and a facelift. it’s a great old landmark building, full of history and character. it’s a bit away from the center of 53rd Street, where the Harper Court development is happening, but it’s near the lake and the park and on major CTA bus routes. it’s a nice location. and it has a corner space, which is definitely a big plus for us. we’re all about corners. it’s a possibility, that corner space is quite nice. it’s smallish, about 1,400 square feet, but not too small. and the rent is half of what the UofC charges for its new spaces around 53rd and Harper Court. we looked at it today and we liked it.
